Relocation cost analysis, done right
Vontari uses BEA Regional Price Parities, BLS metro-level CPI data, Census ACS housing and income statistics, and IRS SOI migration data to compute the true financial impact of relocating between any two of 384 US metropolitan areas.
The Problem
Every year, millions of Americans consider relocating -- for remote work flexibility, lower taxes, better climate, or family reasons. Most use simple cost-of-living calculators that compare a single index number. But that index hides enormous variation across spending categories, ignores tax implications, and cannot model how costs evolve over time. A move that looks like a 20% savings can turn into a net loss once property taxes, insurance, and commute costs are factored in.
Our Approach
We build on the same Regional Price Parity methodology used by the Bureau of Economic Analysis and apply it to your personal financial situation. We model your complete tax burden across federal, state, local, property, and sales taxes. We compare housing costs using HUD Fair Market Rents and Census home values. And we run 10,000 Monte Carlo simulations to give you confidence intervals, not point estimates.

We use only authoritative federal data sources: BEA, BLS, Census ACS, IRS SOI, HUD FMR, and FHFA HPI. Every cost estimate can be traced to published government datasets.
Honest Assessment
We do not sugarcoat results. Our Monte Carlo simulations show expected costs and worst-case scenarios so you can plan for both. If a move does not make financial sense, we show that clearly.

Generic cost-of-living calculators use a single ratio. We model 8 spending categories, full tax burden across 6 tax types, housing differentials, and commute costs -- personalized to your situation.
